Huntingdon women’s soccer ties N.C. Wesleyan

ROCKY MOUNT, N.C. – The Huntingdon women's soccer team battled North Carolina Wesleyan to a 0-0 tie in double overtime on Saturday.

It was the sixth overtime game of the season for the Lady Hawks (4-10-2, 1-7-2 USA South) and the fifth double overtime game. Huntingdon is 1-3-2 in those six games, but has allowed just three goals in that span.

Huntingdon took seven shots for the game, including four shots on goal. N.C. Wesleyan (6-8-1, 3-6-1 USA South) took 10 shots, with four shots on goal.

Huntingdon keeper Josie Byard stopped all four shots, giving her a conference best 140 saves and six shutouts for the season.

Jaime Vincent took two shots on goal for Huntingdon and three total shots. Clara Tapplin and Kate Garrigan each took one shot on goal and Sara Pittman and Christian Boldin each took one shot.

Huntingdon plays at Methodist on Sunday at noon.
