Lady Hawks close season with win over LaGrange

MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The Huntingdon women's soccer team scored four unanswered goals to close out the season with a 4-1 win over LaGrange on Wednesday.

The Lady Hawks (4-10-2, 2-8-2 USA South) gave up a goal a little more than six minutes into the game. But Huntingdon answered with one goal in the first half and three goals in the second half to put the game away.

Huntingdon tied its season-high with 21 shots. The Lady Hawks' 12 shots on goal were two short of their season-high.

Trailing 1-0 in the first half, Huntingdon tied the game on a goal by sophomore Madi Critcher. The Lady Hawks took a 2-1 lead in the first eight minutes of the second half when freshman Kyelie Cudnohoske scored on an assist from freshman Jenna Maschino.

Freshman Alex Ellison scored her first collegiate goal to make it 3-1 in the 71st minute. Sophomore Shelby Clark had the assist. The Lady Hawks closed the scoring with a goal from junior Kira Bohlke.

Clara Tapplin finished with three shots on goal for Huntingdon. Cudnohoske, Maschino and Critcher each took two shots on goal and Bohlke, Ellison and Camryn Carter each had one shot on goal.

Freshman keeper Leah Leach recorded four saves and allowed one goal.
