Maschino recognized on USC Scholar All-Region Team

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Huntingdon junior Jenna Maschino was recognized as an All-Region Scholar on Friday with the release of the United Soccer Coaches Division III Women's Scholar All-Region teams.

Maschino was named second-team All-South Region.

To be eligible for the Scholar All-Region teams, a student-athlete must be nominated by their head coach and meet the following criteria:

-- have a minimum 3.30 cumulative grade point average on a 4.0 scale

--  start more than 50 percent of all games and be an elite player as supported by playing honors or contributions to the success of their team

-- play for a current United Soccer Coaches College Services member institution

-- be a junior or above in academic standing at their current institution

 

A defender, Maschino started in 16 games and appeared in 18 games this season as the Lady Hawks put together their first winning season during the NCAA era. Huntingdon's 11-7-1 record represented the most wins for the program during the NCAA era and the defense set the program's NCAA-era records with nine shutouts and 19 goals allowed.

Maschino was one of 11 women's soccer players from the USA South Athletic Conference to be named first-team or second-team.
