Hale’s late goal lifts Huntingdon in home opener

MONTGOMERY, Ala.  – Camryn Hale scored on an assist from Sam Curtis to help the Huntingdon women's soccer team knock off the Mississippi University for Women 1-0 on Wednesday night at Samford Stadium.

The Lady Hawks (1-0-2) controlled the tempo of the game from the start but could not take advantage of their opportunities until late.

With the second half winding down, Hale took a pass from Curtis and found the net in the 86th minute.

                                                                       

Records: Huntingdon (1-0-2); Mississippi University for Women (0-3-0)

                         

Notable: Huntingdon outshot MUW 7-1 in the first half and 18-4 for the game. Huntingdon finished with seven shots on goal to MUW's two shots on goal.

Quick Fact: Wednesday's game was the Lady Hawks' home opener, but not their debut in the Samford Complex. Due to the weather, the game was moved from the new field to the turf at Samford Stadium. The Lady Hawks are now scheduled to play their first game in the Samford Complex on Sept. 12 against Oglethorpe.
