Paskman’s goal lifts Huntingdon in first game at Samford Complex

MONTGOMERY, Ala.  -- Lindsay Paskman scored off a corner kick from Alexis Louk to lift the Huntingdon women's soccer team past Oglethorpe 1-0 on Wednesday night in the Lady Hawks' first game at the new Samford Complex.

After an even first half, Huntingdon (2-1-2) controlled the second half but could not take the lead until the final four minutes.

Paskman took Louk's corner kick, gave the Lady Hawks the lead in the 87th minute and was quickly swarmed by her celebrating teammates.

Huntingdon closed out the game to earn its third shutout this season.

 

Records: Huntingdon (2-1-2); Oglethorpe (3-2-1)

 

Notable: Huntingdon outshot Oglethorpe 17-4 for the game. The Lady Hawks held a 4-3 advantage in shots at halftime before outshooting the Stormy Petrels 13-1 in the second half.                  

Quick Fact: Paskman's goal and Louk's assist will go down as the first in each category for the Lady Hawks in the new Samford Complex. While the Lady Hawks are 1-0 in the Samford Complex, they are 2-0 at home this season. Huntingdon played its home opener on the turf at Samford Stadium on Sept. 5.
