Lady Hawks tie Birmingham-Southern in double OT

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Huntingdon women's soccer team tied Birmingham-Southern 1-1 in double overtime on Saturday night.

The Panthers (4-0-1) took the lead in the first 16 minutes of the game but Huntingdon (2-1-3) answered and tied the game in the 62nd minute when Elena Guy scored on an assist from Alexis Louk.

The Lady Hawks' defense limited Birmingham Southern to two shots on goal for the game and four total shots in the final 65 minutes of regulation and the two 10-minute overtime periods.

 

Records: Huntingdon (2-1-3); Oglethorpe (4-0-1)

 

Notable: Huntingdon outshot Birmingham-Southern 20-10 for the game. The Lady Hawks were outshot 6-2 in the first half but outshot the Panthers 13-3 in the second half and 5-1 in the two overtime periods.        

Quick Fact: Saturday's game was Huntingdon's fourth overtime game in six games this season and the third double overtime game.
