Lady Hawks fall to Agnes Scott in GSAC tennis finals
CLEMMONS, N.C. – The Huntingdon women's tennis season came to an end with a 5-4 loss to Agnes Scott in the Great South Athletic Conference tournament finals on Sunday.
This was the seventh straight season Huntingdon (18-4) has reached the GSAC championship and the sixth straight season Huntingdon and Agnes Scott have played in the finals. The title is the fifth straight for Agnes Scott.
Huntingdon fell behind 2-1 after doubles, with Katie Scott and Micaela White winning 9-7 at No. 2.
In singles, Scott (No. 3), Hannah Still (No. 4) and Farrah Mahan (No. 6) each won in straight sets. Taylor Clark fell to four-time GSAC Player of the Year Rachel Storz at No. 1 and Britni Thibodeau (No. 2) and White (No. 5) each lost tough three-set battles.
