MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The Huntingdon women's tennis team will have several new faces this season but the Lady Hawks are keeping their same high expectations.

Huntingdon advanced to the conference tournament championship match during its final seven years in the Great South Athletic Conference. Now, in their first season as a member of the USA South Athletic Conference, the Lady Hawks hope to continue the success.

"We have reached the conference championship for the past seven years," Huntingdon head coach Ximena Moore said. "We have high standards and we are going to keep working to reach our goals. But going into a new conference will bring new challenges."

Huntingdon is ranked No. 3 in the USA South preseason poll.

The Lady Hawks return three players (Britni Thibodeau, Hannah Still and Arielle Barraca) from last season's 18-4 team that won the GSAC regular-season title and finished as the conference tournament runner-up.

"We're a very young team, but making progress," Moore said. "The team is getting better each day and we're improving from top to bottom."

Huntingdon opens the season at home on Tuesday against Point University at 3:30 p.m. The Lady Hawks begin conference play on March 1 at home against William Peace.
