Huntingdon women’s tennis takes down Averett
DANVILLE, Va. – The Huntingdon women's tennis team only dropped seven games on Sunday in a 9-0 win over conference foe Averett University.
The win was the fifth straight for the Lady Hawks (7-2, 6-1 USA South), who are currently third in the USA South Athletic Conference standings.
Britni Thibodeau (No. 1) and Daniela Lozano (No. 2) both won 6-0, 6-0 for Huntingdon. Elayne White (No. 4), Shamyia Jones (No. 5) and Tara-Beth Hall (No. 6) also won in straight sets and Arielle Barraca was ahead 6-0, 4-0 when her opponent retired at No. 3 singles.
In doubles, the teams of Thibodeau-Lozano (No. 1), Hannah Still-Barraca (No. 2) and White-Jones (No. 3) each won 8-0.
Huntingdon travels to LaGrange on Tuesday for a conference match at 3:30 p.m.
