Women’s tennis earns No. 3 seed for conference tournament

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. – The Huntingdon women's tennis team lost to Methodist University 9-0 on Sunday.

Methodist (15-5, 11-1 USA South) earned the second seed for the USA South Athletic Conference Tournament with the win.

With the loss, Huntingdon (11-3, 9-3 USA South) finished in a three-way tie with Meredith (9-3 USA South) and Covenant (9-3 USA South) in the conference standings.

Following the USA South's procedures for tie-breakers, Huntingdon is the No. 3 seed, Meredith is the No. 4 seed and Covenant is the No. 5 seed.

The Lady Hawks will play Piedmont in the first round of the conference tournament on Friday at 1 p.m. (Central) in Rocky Mount, N.C.

Before the tournament, Huntingdon will step out of conference play on Wednesday for a 3 p.m. match at Birmingham-Southern.
