Lady Hawks remain unbeaten in conference play

MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The Huntingdon women's tennis team improved to 4-0 in conference play with a 7-2 win over LaGrange College on Wednesday.

Huntingdon (7-3) leads the West Division of the USA South with a 4-0 record. Overall, the Lady Hawks have won seven of their last eight matches.

Against LaGrange (6-6, 0-1 USA South), Huntingdon won all three doubles matches to take a 3-0 lead. The No. 1 team of Mariah Bastos-Dusty Catala won 8-4, the No. 2 team of Josie Waddell-Caroline McBroom won 8-5 and the No. 3 team of Heather Tabor-Kacey Stephens won 8-4.

Waddell's 2-6, 6-0, 6-4 win at No. 2 singles and Bastos' 3-6, 6-3, 6-2 win at No. 3 singles put Huntingdon ahead 5-2 and clinched the match. McBroom's 6-0, 6-1 win at No. 5 and Stephens' 6-1, 6-2 win at No. 6 rounded out the singles victories.

Huntingdon hosts Albany State on Thursday at 2 p.m.
