Lady Hawks defeat Albany State for 12th win of the season

ALBANY, Ga. – The Huntingdon women's tennis team defeated Division II Albany State 7-2 on Tuesday.
The Lady Hawks improve to 12-4 on the season and will close their regular season this weekend with a pair of USA South Athletic Conference matches. Huntingdon hosts Covenant on Friday at 2 p.m.
Huntingdon is currently ranked 20th in the Atlantic South region by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association.
The Lady Hawks took all three doubles matches to jump out to a 3-0 lead. The No. 1 doubles team of Dusty Catala and Mariah Bastos won 8-2 while the No. 2 team of Clayton Waring and Heather Tabor won 8-3.
The No. 3 team of Josie Waddell and Diamond Branch won 8-4.
In singles, Huntingdon won four matches to clinch the win. Catala (No. 1) cruised to a 6-0, 6-0 win and Waddell (No. 2) won 6-0, 6-3. Tabor (No. 4) won 6-0, 6-1 and Waring (No. 5) won 6-0, 6-3.
