Tabor and Waddell clinch victory against Point University
VALLEY, Ala. – Juniors Heather Tabor and Josie Waddell won the final two matches of the day to help the Huntingdon women's tennis team get by Point University 5-4 on Thursday.
The NAIA Skyhawks took a 4-3 lead with Tabor and Waddell still on the court. Tabor's 7-5, 6-3 win at No. 4 singles tied the team score and Waddell's 4-6, 7-5, 6-2 win at No. 2 singles clinched the win for Huntingdon.
Huntingdon took an early 2-1 lead with wins at No. 1 and No. 2 doubles. The No. 1 team of Waddell-Zoya Robinson won 8-4 and the No. 2 team of Tabor-Caroline McBroom won 9-7.
In singles, Point won three of the first four matches to take the lead. In addition to Tabor and Waddell, Robinson (No. 3) won Huntingdon's other singles match.
