Huntingdon closes regular season with win over Covenant

MONTGOMERY, Ala.  – The Huntingdon women's tennis team knocked off Covenant 6-3 on Saturday to close out the regular season.

Huntingdon won all three doubles matches to take a 3-0 lead before battling through singles, where three of the six matches went to three sets.

Huntingdon won in straight sets at No. 6 singles and won in three sets at No. 3 and No. 5 singles. Alex Burnham (No. 6) won 6-1, 6-0, Allison Stegall (No. 3) won 3-6, 6-4, 6-2 and Meredith Head (No. 5) won 3-6, 7-5, 7-6.  

In doubles, the No. 1 team of Madeline Creel and Marisa LaJone won 8-2, the No. 2 team of Lucy Burch and Kennedy Harp won 8-1 and the No. 3 team of Burnham and Stegall won 8-4.
