HUNTINGDON VOLLEYBALL SPLITS IN FIRST DAY OF BIRMINGHAM-SOUTHERN TOURNAMENT

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Huntingdon volleyball team earned a split in its first two matches of the season on Saturday.

The Hawks lost to Piedmont 3-0 and defeated Stillman 3-0 in the first day of the MaK Attack Tournament. Piedmont won 25-16, 25-17, 25-17 before the Hawks beat Stillman 25-23, 25-18, 26-24.

Diane Humphreys led Huntingdon with seven kills against Piedmont and five kills against Stillman. Alyssa Eason had 34 assists and 17 digs in the two matches.

Abby Brown had five kills against Piedmont and Mallorie Richardson added six digs. Against Stillman, Melony Motley had eight kills and eight digs. Amy Putman also had eight digs and Richardson had 10 digs .

Huntingdon (1-1) returns to action in the tournament on Sunday against LaGrange at 10 a.m. and Birmingham-Southern at noon.
