HAWKS VOLLEYBALL FALLS IN FIRST TWO MATCHES OF BERRY TOURNAMENT

MOUNT BERRY, Ga. – Melony Motley totaled 13 kills in two matches and Alyssa Eason had 36 assists, but the Huntingdon volleyball team came up short on Friday in the Berry tournament.

Huntingdon (1-5) dropped both matches 3-0.  Covenant beat the Hawks 25-21, 25-19, 25-11 and Mississippi College won 25-23, 25-19, 25-18.

In addition to Motley's seven kills and Eason's 17 assists against Covenant, Diane Humphreys had four kills and seven digs. Mallorie Richardson finished with eight digs and Ashlee Walters had five digs.

Against Mississippi College, Lauren Rozof had seven kills, Motley and Abby Carter each had six kills and Humphreys added five kills. Richardson had 11 digs and Eason had nine digs to go with 19 assists. Storm McWhorter finished with six digs and Walters had five digs.

The Hawks return to action in the tournament on Saturday. Huntingdon plays Berry at noon and Oglethorpe at 2 p.m.
