Huntingdon volleyball falls to LaGrange and Covenant on Senior Day

MONTGOMERY, Ala.  – Saturday marked the final home matches for three Huntingdon seniors.

Abby Carter, Alyssa Eason and Ashlee Walters were recognized on Senior Day before the Hawks took on LaGrange and Covenant in a Great South Athletic Conference tri-match.

LaGrange downed Huntingdon 25-22, 25-16, 23-25, 25-21 and Covenant beat the Hawks 25-17, 25-13, 25-17.  

Against LaGrange (13-10, 4-2 GSAC), Eason recorded 39 assists and 13 digs. Lauren Rozof recorded 11 kills and 13 digs, Abby Brown had 10 kills, Carter added nine kills and 11 digs and Diane Humphreys had eight kills and eight digs. Walters recorded 12 digs and Storm McWhorter and Fowler Grant each had nine digs.  

Eason finished with 10 assists and 10 digs against Covenant (15-6, 6-1 GSAC). Humphreys had a team-high six kills. Walters turned in a team-high 13 digs and Mallorie Richardson finished with nine digs.

Huntingdon (7-20, 1-5 GSAC) travels to Winston-Salem, N.C. on Oct. 22 to play Salem and Wesleyan in a GSAC tri-match.
