Huntingdon’s Eason and Carter earn All-Conference volleyball recognition

DECATUR, Ga. – Huntingdon seniors Alyssa Eason and Abby Carter were among those honored with the announcement of the Great South Athletic Conference's volleyball awards on Thursday.

The two volleyball players were each named All-Conference and will receive their awards this weekend at the GSAC tournament at Piedmont College. This is the second straight year Eason and Carter have been named All-Conference.

"I am very proud of Alyssa and Abby," Huntingdon volleyball coach Megan Aiello said. "They have worked very hard, not only this season, but in their four years at Huntingdon. I am proud that they are being recognized by the GSAC for their accomplishments."

Eason leads the Hawks with 714 assists this season and is second with 289 digs and 26 aces. Carter leads the team with 72 blocks, is second with 184 kills and has 117 digs and 23 aces this season.

Huntingdon (10-24) plays Agnes Scott in the quarterfinals at noon on Friday. The winner will play top-seeded Maryville in the semifinals at 5 p.m. Friday. The GSAC championship is set for Saturday at noon.
