Huntingdon volleyball rallies past Agnes Scott

MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The Huntingdon volleyball team got off to a rough start Friday night. But the Lady Hawks regrouped to knock off Agnes Scott in four games.

After falling 27-25 in Game 1, Huntingdon took the final three games 25-23, 25-17, 25-12.

"I'm proud of the way the girls played tonight," Huntingdon volleyball coach Amy Patterson said. "It's not always easy to take a loss in the first game and come back to win. But the girls did a good job. We kept fighting and we played the way I knew we could play."

The win is the second straight for the Lady Hawks (5-9, 3-1 Great South Athletic Conference).

"I think we're starting to realize our potential and gain more confidence," Patterson said. "If we continue to work on the things we need to improve on, I think we're only going to get better."

Kelly Kahumoku led the Lady Hawks with 14 kills and six digs. Lauren Rozof added 11 kills, 10 digs and five aces and Abby Brown followed with nine kills, five digs and three aces. Bianca Hulsey recorded 38 assists, eight digs and three aces. Kali Martin finished with 15 digs, Lexi Rangel added 12 digs and Storm McWhorter had seven digs.

Huntingdon hosts Wesleyan and Martin Methodist in a tri-match on Saturday. The Lady Hawks play Wesleyan at noon, Wesleyan takes on Martin Methodist at 2 p.m. and Huntingdon closes out the day against Martin Methodist at 4 p.m. All three matches will be played in Wilson Gym.
