Volleyball loses to conference rivals Meredith and Methodist

RALEIGH, N.C. – The Huntingdon volleyball team lost two conference matches on Saturday. The Lady Hawks fell to Meredith 25-7, 25-12, 25-20 and lost to Methodist 25-23, 25-20, 21-25, 25-22.

Meredith (17-5, 9-1 USA South) leads the North Division of the USA South and Methodist (11-12, 6-4 USA South) is third in the North Division.

Against Meredith, Brooke Garrison had six kills for the Lady Hawks, Cora Murchison had eight assists, Lexi Rangel had seven assists and eight digs and Lauren Condon had 13 digs.

Against Methodist, Kalen Morgan led the way with 12 kills, two solo blocks and two block assists. Ashley Childs recorded nine kills, one solo block and one block assist and Brittany Frost had seven kills. Murchison totaled 19 assists and six digs and Rangel finished with 15 assists and eight digs, Condon had 14 digs and Bobie Wilson added 11 digs.

Huntingdon (4-16, 0-8 USA South) travels to Birmingham on Tuesday for a pair of non-conference matches. The Lady Hawks play Emory (22-2), the third ranked team in Division III, at 3 p.m. and Birmingham-Southern (16-7) at 7 p.m.
