Volleyball closes out Huntingdon Tournament

MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The Huntingdon volleyball team closed out the Huntingdon Tournament on Saturday with a win against Agnes Scott and a loss to Belhaven University.

The Hawks defeated Agnes Scott 25-22, 25-20, 22-25, 25-22 and lost to Belhaven 25-17, 25-15, 25-14.

Sophomore Bria Rochelle led Huntingdon (2-2) with 22 kills, 19 digs and two blocks in the two matches on Saturday. Senior Cora Murchison added 34 assists and junior Lauren Condon had 30 digs.

In the loss to Belhaven (4-1), Rochelle had seven kills and 10 digs, junior Rachel Dunlay recorded 15 assists and eight digs and Condon had 15 digs.

In the final match of the tournament against Agnes Scott (2-3), Rochelle had 15 kills and nine digs. Junior Audrianna Hargitt recorded nine kills and 13 digs, Murchison had 34 assists and Condon had 15 digs. Junior Kalen Morgan had seven kills, four aces and 10 digs and freshman Ashton Flores had seven kills and three blocks.

The Hawks return to action on Friday in the Sewanee Tournament. Huntingdon will play Fisk at 11 a.m. and Sewanee at 5 p.m.
