Hawks host Maryville and Covenant in conference play

MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The Huntingdon volleyball team battled Maryville and Covenant but fell to both conference rivals on Saturday.

The Hawks lost to Maryville 25-18, 25-21, 25-23 and fell to Covenant 25-9, 25-17, 25-22.

Bria Rochelle, Audrianna Hargitt and Kalen Morgan combined for 43 kills in the two matches for the Hawks (6-13, 0-6 USA South) and Cora Murchison had 46 assists.

Against Maryville (6-6, 5-0 USA South), Rochelle had 10 kills and five digs, Hargitt followed with six kills and Morgan added five kills. Murchison totaled 25 assists, six digs and three aces and Lauren Condon finished with 10 digs and five aces.

In the match with Covenant (7-8, 5-1 USA South), Hargitt recorded nine kills, Rochelle added seven kills, 14 digs and two blocks and Morgan had six kills. Murchison finished with 21 assists and eight digs, Lexi Rangel had 14 digs and Condon had 12 digs.

Huntingdon travels to Life University on Thursday.
