Hawks down Pensacola Christian for third straight win

MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The Huntingdon volleyball team pushed its winning streak to three matches with a 3-1 win over Pensacola Christian on Thursday night.

Facing the Eagles for the second time this season, Huntingdon won 25-22, 24-26, 31-29, 25-23. The performance was a marked improvement from the first match at Pensacola in September. Pensacola Christian (9-6) won the first meeting 25-23, 25-11, 25-14.

In Thursday's match, Ashley Childs led the Hawks (9-16) with a career-high 15 kills. Audrianna Hargitt finished with 12 kills, nine digs, three block assists and one solo block. Kalen Morgan and Bria Rochelle each added nine kills. Morgan had two block assists and Rochelle had 17 digs, one solo block and one block assist.

Lexi Rangel recorded 29 assists and 11 digs and Kaitlyn Carter added 19 assists and 15 digs. Lauren Condon finished with a team-high 35 digs and Bobie Wilson had 10 digs.

Huntingdon returns to action at LaGrange on Sunday against Methodist and Meredith in a pair of USA South Athletic Conference matches.
