Huntingdon volleyball picked fourth in USA South preseason poll

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. – The USA South Athletic Conference released its 2016 volleyball preseason coaches' poll on Thursday.
Atop the Western Division poll is Maryville College and 2015 USA South Tournament champion Covenant College. Both teams received four first-place votes and totaled 46 points. Piedmont placed third with 32 points while Huntingdon was voted fourth with 28 points. LaGrange rounded out the top five with 27 points.
The Hawks finished the 2015 season with a 15-20 overall record and a 5-11 record in the USA South but had a strong finish to the season. Huntingdon won nine of its final 15 games including five conference wins. The Hawks opened preseason camp on Thursday.
Huntingdon opens its regular season on Sept. 2 in Sewanee, Tenn. with matches against Pensacola Christian at 1 p.m. and Sewanee at 7 p.m.
