Huntingdon falls to Faulkner and SUNO

MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The Huntingdon volleyball team closed out the Huntingdon Hawks Volleyball Invitational with a pair of losses to NAIA opponents Southern University of New Orleans and Faulkner University.

Against the Knights, the Hawks lost 20-25, 19-25 and 17-25. In the final match of the night, Huntingdon fell 10-25, 18-25 and 16-25 to the Eagles.

In the three set loss to SUNO (3-8), Audrianna Hargitt led the Hawks (4-9) with eight kills and added eight digs. Kalen Morgan and Alexis Creasman each recorded six kills, while Bria Rochelle finished with nine digs and five kills.

Kaitlyn Carter had a team-high 16 assists while freshman Devyn Stringer added 12 assists and eight digs.

Against Faulkner (6-9), Morgan led Huntingdon with six kills while Rochelle, Hargitt and Celeste Walton each recorded four kills. Rochelle had team-high 12 digs with Shelby Young and Hargitt adding eight digs. Carter finished with 13 assists.

The Hawks open USA South Athletic Conference play on Sept. 24, when they host N.C. Wesleyan and Meredith at Roland Arena.
