Huntingdon falls to Averett and William Peace

DANVILLE, Va. – The Huntingdon volleyball team lost a pair of USA South Athletic Conference matches in a quad-match at Averett University on Saturday.

The Hawks (6-14, 2-4 USA South) fell to Averett 25-13, 25-14, 25-17 and lost to William Peace (25-13, 23-25, 25-23, 25-18. Averett (14-6, 6-0 USA South) is second in the USA South East standings and William Peace is third in the East.

Bria Rochelle and Audrianna Hargitt led Huntingdon with a combined 35 kills and 24 digs in the two matches and Devyn Stringer recorded 49 assists.

Against Averett, Rochelle had seven kills and Hargitt added six kills and a team-high eight digs. Stringer finished with 20 assists.

In the loss to William Peace, Rochelle and Hargitt each totaled 11 kills and Stringer and Kalen Morgan each added six kills. Stringer also had 29 assists, nine digs and three aces. Shelby Young and Kaitlyn Carter each added eight digs.

Huntingdon will play Greensboro and Methodist in a conference quad-match at Greensboro on Sunday.
