Hawks win in 5 games to remain unbeaten in USA South

LAGRANGE, Ga.  – The Huntingdon volleyball team battled back from a 2-1 deficit to beat LaGrange in five games on Thursday night.

The Hawks won 25-8, 21-25, 25-27, 25-22, 15-13 to extend the program's longest winning streak in more than a decade to seven matches.

With Thursday's win, Huntingdon improved to 5-0 in the USA South and 14-6 overall. The Hawks are first in the West Division of the conference and their 14 overall wins are the most of any team in the conference.

Four players combined for 48 of Huntingdon's 57 kills against LaGrange. Amy Tyma led the way with 16 kills to push her conference-leading total to 222 kills this season.

Alexis Creasman recorded 15 kills, April Reese added nine kills and Addison Genard had eight kills. Kaitlyn Carter (34) and Ashley Murphy (17) accounted for 51 of Huntingdon's 56 assists.
