Huntingdon earns AVCA Team Academic Award

LEXINGTON, Ky. – The Huntingdon volleyball team was recognized by the American Volleyball Coaches Association with the release of the Team Academic Awards.

The Hawks were one of 176 Division III programs to earn the honor. A total of 1,127 teams were recognized from the NCAA Division I level down to the high school level. The 1,127 teams are the most ever recognized in a season by the AVCA.

The award, which was first presented following the 1992-93 academic year, recognizes collegiate and high school volleyball teams that display excellence in the classroom by maintaining at least a 3.30 cumulative team GPA on a 4.0 scale or a 4.10 cumulative team GPA on a 5.0 scale.

Huntingdon was one of four USA South Athletic Conference programs to earn the award, joining Covenant, Maryville and Meredith.
