Hawks earn sweep, Tyma records 1,000th career dig

MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The Huntingdon volleyball team swept Pensacola Christian and the Mississippi University for Women on Saturday in the Hawks' first home matches of the season.

Huntingdon beat Pensacola Christian 25-14, 25-20, 25-15 and knocked off MUW 25-16, 25-23, 25-23.

Amy Tyma (26), April Reese (25) and Addison Genard (17) combined for 68 of the Hawks' 92 kills in the two matches. Ashley Murphy (44) and Morgan Ilsley (29) combined for 73 assists and Tyma had 36 digs.

With 20 digs in the final match, Tyma passed 1,000 digs for her career. With 1,010 career digs, the junior is just the seventh Hawk to reach the milestone since 2006.
