Huntingdon extends winning streak to seven matches with conference sweep

LAGRANGE, Ga. – The Huntingdon volleyball team moved into first place in the West Division of the USA South Athletic Conference with a pair of wins on Saturday.

The Hawks beat Agnes Scott 25-15, 25-19, 25-14 and knocked off Covenant 20-25, 25-20, 25-21, 20-25, 15-13. With the wins, Huntingdon extended its winning streak to seven matches. The winning streak is tied for program's longest winning streak since at least 2006.

Huntingdon is one of two West Division teams still unbeaten in conference play. The Hawks lead the West Division with a 4-0 conference record and Maryville is 3-0.

April Reese (31) and Amy Tyma (26) combined for 57 of the Hawks' 101 kills on Saturday and Ashley Murphy (49) and Morgan Ilsley (31) combined for 80 assists. Tyma (35), Reese (23) and Ilsley (18) combined for 76 digs and Addison Genard (9), Shelby McAllister (7), Reese (5) and Tyma (4) combined for 25 blocks.
