Hawks push winning streak to eight matches, remain unbeaten in USA South

MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The Huntingdon volleyball team picked up its eighth straight win and remained unbeaten in the USA South Athletic Conference with a 25-20, 18-25, 25-22, 25-21 win over LaGrange on Wednesday night.

The eight-match winning streak is the Hawks' longest since at least 2006. Complete records before 2006 are not readily available.

With a 5-0 record in the USA South, Huntingdon is tied for first with Maryville in the conference's West Division. Huntingdon and Maryville will face off in a battle for first on Saturday in a neutral-site match at LaGrange.

In Wednesday's match, Amy Tyma (16), Addison Genard (15), April Reese (11) and Shelby McAllister (9) combined for 51 of Huntingdon's 57 kills. Ashley Murphy recorded 38 assists and Tyma (19), Reese (13), Lexie DeVuyst (13) and Morgan Ilsley (11) combined for 56 digs.
