Huntingdon comes up short in five-game battle with Faulkner

MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The Huntingdon volleyball team took Faulkner University to five games but came up short on Thursday night.

Huntingdon led 2-1 after three games before the NAIA Eagles rallied for a 21-25, 25-20, 22-25, 25-14, 15-13 win.

Amy Tyma (23), April Reese (13), Addison Genard (7), Shelby McAllister (6) and MaCayla Clements (5) combined for 54 of the Hawks' 55 kills in the match. Tyma's 23 kills pushed her season total to 490. Entering Thursday's match, the junior ranked third in Division III in kills this season.

Freshman Morgan Ilsley recorded a career-high 47 assists against Faulkner and senior Lexie DeVuyst had a career-high 29 digs. DeVuyst, Tyma (24), Reese (19) and Ilsley (12) combined for 84 digs in the match.
