Hawks earn first beach volleyball win of the season

COVINGTON, La.  – The Huntingdon beach volleyball team competed in the New Orleans Invitational Tournament on Friday and Saturday. In the tournament, the Hawks finished 1-3 picking up their first win of the season over Division I Nicholls State.

On Friday, the Hawks fell to the University of Southern Miss 5-0 and to Spring Hill College 5-0. On Saturday, the Hawks lost to the University of New Orleans 5-0 and beat Nicholls State 3-2.

In the match with Nicholls State, the team of Lexie DeVuyst and Amy Tyma came together to get a 21-9, 22-20 win.  Nichole LeFevre and Addison Genard picked up a win with a score of 21-18, 21-16 win. Alexis Creasman and April Reese picked up another win for the Hawks with a score 21-18, 21-13.

Coming Up: The Hawks will compete in the College of Charleston Tournament on March 9-10.
