Huntingdon College hosts ALABCA Community College Fall Classic

MONTGOMERY, Ala. – Huntingdon College's Posey Field will be the site 16 baseball games during the next three days. The ALABCA Community College Fall Classic begins Wednesday morning and will run through Friday night.
Huntingdon’s Odom to play in Valley League All-Star Game

MONTGOMERY, Ala. – Huntingdon catcher Joseph Odom was named to the North roster for the Valley League's All-Star Game and will also compete in the Home Run Derby this weekend. The Valley League's North-South All-Star rosters were released on Tuesday. Odom is one of 60 players invited to play in Sunday's All-Star Game at Front Royal's Bing Crosby Stadium. First pitch is set for 7:30 p.m. Eastern. The Home Run Derby will be held before the game.
Huntingdon’s Brown and Lowman earn All-Region recognition from D3baseball.com

MONTGOMERY, Ala. – Huntingdon junior Grant Brown and freshman Grant Lowman recently received All-Region recognition from D3baseball.com. This is the first time D3baseball.com has released All-Region teams. Brown was chosen as a second-team All-South selection at designated hitter and Lowman was a third-team selection at pitcher.
Huntingdon baseball misses out on NCAA Regional bid

MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The NCAA Division III Baseball Committee released the field of teams chosen for the 2012 postseason on Monday. Despite winning 30 games and winning the Great South Athletic Conference championship, Huntingdon was not one of the 56 teams selected to play in a Regional.
Huntingdon joins USA South Athletic Conference

MONTGOMERY, Ala. — Huntingdon College President J. Cameron West announced today that Huntingdon will join the NCAA-Division III USA South Athletic Conference beginning in the fall of 2013. Huntingdon and Covenant College (Ga.) were approved as members at a meeting of the USA South presidents yesterday. Current USA South members are Averett University (Va.), Ferrum College (Va.), Greensboro College (N.C.), Mary Baldwin College (Va.), Meredith College (N.C.), Methodist University (N.C.), N.C. Wesleyan College (N.C.), William Peace University (N.C.), and the conference's newest members, LaGrange College (Ga.), Piedmont College (Ga.), and Maryville College (Tenn.).

LaGRANGE, Ga. – The Huntingdon baseball team did it the hard way on Sunday. The Hawks lost to LaGrange 6-5 in the first game before coming back to win 17-9 in the second game to capture the Great South Athletic Conference tournament championship.
Hawks edge Piedmont in 13 innings to reach GSAC baseball tournament finals

LaGRANGE, Ga. – The Huntingdon baseball team has been living on the edge during the first two rounds of the Great South Athletic Conference tournament. The Hawks rallied from a five-run deficit to win in the first round on Friday and followed up by rallying from a four-run deficit and winning in 13 innings on Saturday. Chad Baxley singled to score Seth Currie in the top of the 13th as the Hawks hung on to beat Piedmont 10-9 in the second round.
Huntingdon rallies for win in first round of GSAC baseball tournament

LaGRANGE, Ga. – The Huntingdon baseball team rallied from a five-run deficit and edged Maryville 6-5 on Friday in the first round of the Great South Athletic Conference tournament. The Hawks used a three-run homer from Joseph Odom to make it a one-run game in the seventh inning, an RBI single from Trey Smith to tie the game in the bottom of the ninth and an RBI single from Austin White to end the game in the ninth.
Huntingdon’s Lowman and Conville earn GSAC baseball honors

MONTGOMERY, Ala. – Huntingdon pitcher Grant Lowman and head baseball coach D.J. Conville were both recognized by the Great South Athletic Conference on Thursday. Lowman was named the GSAC Freshman of the Year and Conville was named the GSAC Coach of the Year. A total of 16 Huntingdon baseball players received recognition from the GSAC, including nine Academic All-Conference players.

MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The Huntingdon baseball team closed out the regular season with a 15-5 win over Point University on Tuesday at Posey Field. It was the fourth straight game that the Hawks have scored at least 10 runs.

MARYVILLE, Tenn. – The Huntingdon baseball team gave up two runs in the bottom of the ninth inning in an 11-10 loss to Maryville on Sunday. The Hawks (26-11), the No. 1 seed entering next week's Great South Athletic Conference tournament, finish conference play with a 9-3 record. Huntingdon took the first two games of the series with Maryville 13-7 and 12-3.

MARYVILLE, Tenn. – Catcher Joseph Odom hit his sixth and seventh home runs of the season to highlight the Huntingdon baseball team's 12-3 win over Maryville on Saturday. Odom was one of five Hawks to record multiple hits and one of four Hawks with three hits. In the first two games of the Maryville series, Huntingdon (26-10, 9-2 Great South Athletic Conference) has totaled 35 hits and 25 runs. Game 3 of the series is set for noon on Sunday.
Huntingdon baseball clinches regular-season conference title

MARYVILLE, Tenn. – The Huntingdon baseball team pounded out 19 hits and scored 13 runs to knock off Maryville 13-7 on Friday. With the win, the Hawks (25-10, 8-2 Great South Athletic Conference) clinched the regular-season GSAC title. The Hawks have a three-game lead in the GSAC standings with two conference games remaining. Huntingdon and Maryville (17-17, 4-6 GSAC) are scheduled to play the second game of a three-game series on Saturday, weather permitting. First pitch is currently set for 2 p.m.
Spivey and Rollins Nab GSAC's Final Baseball Weekly Awards

DECATUR, Ga.- Entering the home stretch of the 2012 regular season, Tyler Spivey of Huntingdon and James Rollins of Covenant have earned the final Pitcher and Player of the Week honors for the 2012 season. This is the first time season for both athletes.
