Huntingdon stumbles at #16 Millsaps

JACKSON, Miss. – The Huntingdon baseball team held a two-run lead in the middle innings on Tuesday before Millsaps pulled ahead for a 12-5 win.

The Majors (20-4) are ranked 16th by Collegiate Baseball and 21st by D3baseball.com.

Huntingdon (17-12) scored five runs in the first five innings and led 5-3 in the fifth. Millsaps answered with two runs in the bottom of the fifth inning and four runs in the sixth inning to take the lead for good.

Third baseman Jordan Freeman drove in three of the Hawks' five runs with a ground out in the first, a sacrifice fly in the third and a solo home run in the fifth. The home run was the fifth of the season for Freeman.

Right fielder Anthony Spivey and second baseman Mason Throneberry each had one RBI. Center fielder Patrick Kucera, left fielder Alec Raley, first baseman Will Pharis and shortstop Landon Sessions each scored one run.

Zach McGrady (0-1) took the loss in relief.

Huntingdon hosts 19th-ranked Emory on Friday at 6 p.m.
