Huntingdon falls in two games at #22 Emory

ATLANTA – The Huntingdon baseball team lost both games of a doubleheader to 22nd-ranked Emory University on Saturday. Emory took the first game 6-4 and won the second game 6-1.

In Game 1, designated hitter Anthony Spivey hit a two-run home run in the third inning. It was the fifth home run of the season for Spivey.

Left fielder Alec Raley and second baseman Mason Throneberry each had one RBI. Center fielder Patrick Kucera, right fielder Gunnar Peters and shortstop Landon Sessions each scored one run.

In Game 2, Raley drove in Spivey with a single for the Hawks' only run. First baseman Will Pharis had two hits.

Zack Watson (3-3) took the loss in Game 1 and Jared Gonzalez (5-2) took the loss in Game 2.

Huntingdon (17-15) returns to action on Tuesday at home against 11th-ranked Rhodes at 3 p.m. This will be the second meeting of the season for the two teams. Huntingdon won the first game with Rhodes 6-4 on March 17.
