Hawks fall to Lynx in final game of Firehouse Classic
MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The Huntingdon baseball team fell to Rhodes College 6-3 on Saturday in the final game of the rain-shortened Firehouse Classic.
Huntingdon trailed 4-2 after six innings before the Lynx scored a run in the seventh inning and a run in the ninth to take a 6-2 lead. In the bottom of the ninth, the Hawks loaded the bases with no outs but were only able to score one run.
Taylor Fought was 3-for-5 with two RBIs for the Hawks and Joseph Calvert was 2-for-3. Jud Owens drove in one run and Wes Powell, Dakota Beane and Brooks Freeman each scored one run.
Blake Mayes (1-1) took the loss in five innings, striking out three, walking two and allowing four hits and three earned runs.
