    FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. – Senior Carden Mellown was chosen as one of the USA South Athletic Conference Athletes of the Week on Monday.   Mellown was named Pitcher of the Week for baseball. This is his second recognition of the spring and the third overall recognition for baseball this spring.

    MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The Huntingdon baseball team completed its first conference sweep of the season with a 6-1 win over Averett University on Sunday. The win capped a three-game series with the Cougars. Huntingdon won the first two games 5-0 and 5-4 on Saturday.

The Hawks won the first game 5-0 and closed the day with a 5-4 victory. The two teams will wrap up the series on Sunday at noon at Posey Field.

Sophomore Tri Overby was named Player of the Week for baseball, sophomore Morgan Coppini was recognized as Defensive Player of the Week for women’s lacrosse, freshman Kailey Laudicina was chosen as Rookie of the Week for women’s lacrosse and Madeline Creel was selected as Rookie of the Week for women’s tennis.

    FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. – The Huntingdon baseball team is ranked fifth in the USA South Athletic Conference preseason poll. Huntingdon received one first-place vote and totaled 105 points in the poll.
  • Huntingdon SAAC heads athletic teams’ community service effort

    MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The Huntingdon Student-Athlete Advisory Committee recently helped raise a collection of more than 6,000 items for the Montgomery Area Food Bank. The effort was part of the USA South Athletic Conference’s Cans Across the Conference food drive. All 18 member institutions of the USA South collected non-perishable items to benefit local charities of their choosing.
