Huntingdon’s White named to D3football.com Team of the Week

MONTGOMERY, Ala. – Huntingdon safety Anthony White was recognized this week by D3football.com for his performance in a 42-6 win over Methodist last weekend.

The senior was one of two safeties named to D3football.com's national Team of the Week.

White intercepted two passes in the game, returning one 100 yards for a touchdown and the other 23 yards to set up a touchdown. He also recorded three tackles.

With Huntingdon leading 7-0 in the first quarter and Methodist at the Hawks' 6-yard line, White intercepted a pass at the goal line and set a Huntingdon record with the 100-yard return. In the second quarter, White made an interception at the Methodist 39 and returned it to the Monarchs' 16. After the interception, Huntingdon scored in two plays to take a 21-3 lead.

White currently leads the USA South with five interceptions this season. He is tied for ninth in Division III in interceptions this season. Claremont-Mudd-Scripps' Victor Bunce leads Division III with nine interceptions.

For his career, White ranks third in Huntingdon history with 11 interceptions and is sixth in program history with 202 tackles.
