Huntingdon ranked No. 3 in USA South preseason football poll

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C.  – The Huntingdon College football team enters the 2019 season as the third-ranked team in the USA South Athletic Conference preseason poll.

With the release of the USA South coaches' poll on Friday, the Hawks are third with one first-place vote and 38 points.

Averett is the preseason No. 1 with four first-place votes and 46 points. Defending conference champion Maryville is second with three first-place votes and 43 points.

Behind the Hawks, North Carolina Wesleyan is fourth with 30 points and Methodist is fifth with 25 points.

Rounding out the poll are No. 6 Brevard (18 points), No. 7 LaGrange (17 points) and No. 8 Greensboro (seven points).

Huntingdon opens the season at home against Guilford College on Sept. 7.
