Huntingdon men’s basketball can’t hold off Victory University

MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The Huntingdon men's basketball led for more than 30 minutes on Monday night, but Victory University pulled away late for an 82-69 win.

Tied 65-65 with 7:54 to play, Victory (15-3) scored 10 straight points and closed the game with a 17-4 run. The non-conference loss snapped a five-game winning streak for Huntingdon (6-12).

Huntingdon's Austin Hill led all scorers with 25 points. Hill, who is averaging 21.2 points per game, has scored at least 20 points in 13-of-18 games this season.

Terry Moorer added 11 points and Byron Dudley had nine points and six rebounds. Andre Ashley finished with 10 rebounds and Jason Varney recorded five assists.

The Hawks resume conference play on Saturday at 3 p.m. at Piedmont (7-10, 2-5 USA South). Huntingdon (5-3 USA South) is tied for third in the USA South Athletic Conference standings.
