MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The Huntingdon men's basketball team came up short in an 81-71 loss to Ferrum College on Saturday.
The Hawks (2-11, 1-2 USA South) rallied from a 13-point deficit early in the second half and only trailed by three points, 61-58, with 6:12 to play. Ferrum (6-9, 1-3 USA South) used a 9-0 run to go ahead 70-58 with 2:35 to play. From there, the Panthers hit one field goal and sank 9-of-11 free throws to close out the game.
Dantavius Washington led Huntingdon with 17 points. Andre Ashley followed with 15 points and a team-high seven rebounds. Raheem Berry added 13 points and five rebounds and Jerome Davis finished with 13 points.
Huntingdon hosts Averett University (9-5, 3-1 USA South) on Sunday at noon.
