Huntingdon comes up short at Birmingham-Southern

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Huntingdon men's basketball team led for most of the game on Saturday, but fell behind late in an 81-73 loss to Birmingham-Southern.

The Hawks (0-5) led by as many as nine points and never trailed by more than two points in the first 35 minutes of the game. But Birmingham-Southern (3-3) took control and outscored the Hawks 17-8 in the final minutes.

The Panthers went ahead 66-65 with 5:06 to play, built a 76-67 lead with 1:39 to play and hit 5-of-6 free throws in the final minute to close the game.

Huntingdon's Jahal Robinson led all scorers with 19 points and six assists. The sophomore was 8-for-8 from the free-throw line.

Andre Ashley followed with 15 points and five rebounds and Brandon McLean added 12 points, nine rebounds, four steals and two blocks. KK Franklin finished with 11 points, five rebounds, three assists and two blocks.

Huntingdon plays at the University of North Alabama on Dec. 10 at 3 p.m.
