JACKSON, Miss. – The Huntingdon men's basketball team came up short in a 65-62 loss to Belhaven on Tuesday night.
Behind a 3-pointer from sophomore Scotty Chadwick, the Hawks (0-7) took a 62-61 lead with 57 seconds to play. But Belhaven (2-3) regained the lead on a layup with 39 seconds remaining and held off the Hawks with two free throws in the final 11 seconds.
Andre Ashley recorded his second double-double of the season for the Hawks. Ashley finished with a game-high 20 points to go with 10 rebounds. Wyatt Popovich added 12 points and Charvez' Hobson had nine points. Chadwick finished with seven points.
Huntingdon hosts Methodist on Saturday at 2 p.m.
