GREENSBORO, N.C. – The Huntingdon men's basketball team lost to 18th-ranked Guilford College 90-63 on Saturday in the Daly Seven Tip-off Classic.
The Quakers jumped out to a 25-9 lead in the first 10 minutes of the game and led by as many as 26 points in the first half. Trailing 48-28 at halftime, Huntingdon chipped away at the Quakers' lead and pulled within 12 points twice midway through the second half.
But Guilford held off the Hawks and extended the lead in the final eight minutes of the game.
T.C. Elmore led the Hawks with 19 points. Elmore, who was named to the All-Tournament team, was 10-of-14 from the free-throw line. Kyante Pines added 10 points and Charvez' Hobson followed with eight points, five rebounds and four steals. Cam Boyd also had five rebounds.
Carson Long led Guilford with 36 points and 11 rebounds.
