MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The Huntingdon men's basketball team earned its second win of the season with a 91-88 double overtime victory against Birmingham-Southern on Wednesday night.

Trailing 88-86 with less than 30 seconds remaining in the second overtime, Huntingdon's Charvez' Hobson and Aaron Washington combined to score the final five points of the game. Hobson made a basket, was fouled and hit a free throw with 19 seconds left before Washington sank two free throws with seven seconds to play.

Birmingham-Southern called timeout in the final seconds but was unable to answer the Hawks.

Hobson led Huntingdon with 20 points and seven rebounds and Washington finished with 17 points and three steals. James Harris added 13 points, five rebounds and four assists, and Damien Madison and Jacob Champion each scored 12 points. Caleb Toney had nine points and Mykel Woods had five rebounds and three blocks.

Huntingdon played from behind for the first 25 minutes of the game, trailing by as many as 12 points in the first half and 36-27 at halftime. Trailing 38-27 in the first 30 seconds of the second half, the Hawks went on a 16-3 run and took their first lead on a 3-pointer by Champion with 14:13 left in the second half.

Neither team would lead by more than four points in the final 15 minutes of the second half. A basket by Harris made it 67-67 at the end of regulation.

In the first overtime, the two teams combined for 34 points. Birmingham-Southern took a seven-point lead, 79-72, in the first 3:02 of overtime. Huntingdon answered with a 12-3 run and took an 84-82 lead before the Panthers hit two free throws with one second remaining to force the second overtime.
