Huntingdon’s Lester at 2-over-par after two rounds in Jekyll Island Invitational

JEKYLL ISLAND, Ga. – Huntingdon sophomore Jamey Lester shot a 2-over-par 74 on Saturday and has a 2-over 146 after the first two rounds of the Jekyll Island Collegiate Invitational.

As a team, four Huntingdon golfers shot in the 70s and the Hawks shot 303 on Saturday at Jekyll Island Country Club. Entering the final round, Huntingdon is at 612 and tied for 22nd.

Methodist University leads the team standings at 566. Oglethorpe is second at 579. Individually, Methodist's Robby Bruns leads the field at 5-under 137. Claremont-Mudd-Scripps' Tain Lee is second at 3-under 139. Lester's is tied for 20th.

Huntingdon's Rodes Bowers shot 78 in the second round and is at 154 after two rounds and Griffin Just is at 156. Just shaved eight strokes off his first-round 84 and shot 2-over 74 on Saturday. Sam Strachan shot 77 in Round 2 and is at 159. Steven Smith is at 165.

The tournament's final round is set for Sunday.
