Final round of Rhodes Fall Classic rained out
TUNICA, Miss. – The two-day Rhodes Fall Classic was cut short by rain on Monday.
Southwestern University, who led the tournament by 13 strokes after 18 holes at Tunica National on Sunday, was declared the tournament champion. Emory was second at 294 and Berry College was third at 295. Huntingdon finished ninth with a 302 on Sunday.
Southwestern's Jordan Cowart was the individual champion with a 7-under-par 65. Huntingdon junior Rodes Bowers and sophomore Steven Smith tied for 13th at 1-over 73. Juniors Jamey Lester and Tyler Schmutz each shot 78 for the Hawks in the first round and freshman Riley Manasco shot 84. Playing as an individual, Huntingdon freshman David James shot 82.
Huntingdon returns to action on Oct. 1 in the Gordin Classic.
