Huntingdon places 2nd in USA South Golf Tournament

ROCKY MOUNT, N.C. – The Huntingdon men's golf team shot 305 on Sunday in the final round of the USA South Athletic Conference Tournament at Benvenue Country Club.

The Hawks finished with a three-round score of 917. Defending national champion Methodist won the conference title with a three-round total of 885. LaGrange College, the 2015 USA South champion and Division III national runner-up, placed third with a score of 930.

Two Hawks placed in the top-five and made the All-Tournament team. Junior Addison Lambeth placed third with a 6-over-par 222. Lambeth, the fourth-ranked golfer in Division III, shot a 3-under 69 in the final round. Junior Will Thrash was fifth with a 10-over 226.

Methodist's Larkin Gross was the tournament medalist with a 2-under 214. Methodist's Jackson Collier was the runner-up with a 4-over 220.

Huntingdon junior Chad Ring shot a 4-over 76 on Sunday and finished tied for 13th with a 54-hole total of 234. Freshman Stephen Shephard tied for 17th with a 237 and senior David James tied for 22nd with a 239.
