LYNCHBURG, Va. – The Huntingdon men's lacrosse team lost to Randolph College 16-4 on Saturday night.

After starting the season 5-1, the Hawks entered Saturday's match with a three-game losing streak.

The Wildcats opened the game with two first quarter goals before Kendrick Ballard found the back of the net with 4:21 remaining in the quarter.

Down by one entering the second, the Hawks (5-5) quickly found themselves trailing 8-1 heading into halftime.

Randolph (4-0) scored the second half's first two goals before Ballard scored his second goal on a man-up advantage. Patrick Rowe and Austin Ohliger each had a goal in the fourth quarter but the Wildcat offense was too much for the Hawks.

Ballard finished with two goals while Rowe and Ohliger scored once. Caleb Dailey and A.J. Harper each had one assist.

Sam Hitt continued his success at the faceoff x, going 10-of-17. Jackson Schrampfer went 2-of-4 while Brandon Scheele finished 1-of-2. Schrampfer finished with three ground balls.

Josh Clayton scooped up four ground balls while Fabien Gutierrez recorded four saves, four ground balls and allowed 14 goals in 50 minutes of play. Kenneth Porter allowed two goals in the fourth quarter.

Huntingdon hosts rival Greensboro College on Thursday at 4 p.m. in Samford Stadium.
